Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway would be a game changer

December 16, 2016 By Creativity Please

State Government is developing Nagpur-Mumbai Super Expressway which may be a game changer. It would link other regions, Marathwada and Vidarbha in the State. It will be a game changer and take Maharashtra 20 years forward, Fadnavis asserted, speaking at The Vidarbha Investment Summit and Exposition 2016. The expressway is expected to decrease the travel time between Nagpur to under ten hours to Mumbai for passenger travel and for cargo transportation, it would be less than 14 hours. “The job is also expected to provide a boost to the economic growth in the 10 passing districts and 14 adjoining districts,” he said.

In the inaugural session, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, Maharashtra Government was closely working with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for industrial development of Vidarbha. Congratulating CII on creating a stage to bring investors together and showcase the investment potential of the Vidarbha area.

Sudhir Mehta, Chairman CII Western Region and Chairman and Managing Director, Pinnacle Industries said that CII has set up the Make in Maharashtra Task Force to boost ‘Brand Maharashtra’ and it’s from this that the idea of organising a program to ease investments into the state germinated.

Of the total FDI inflows into the nation, Maharashtra received more than 50 per cent FDI which was considerably higher as compared to other states, Fadnavis said. Shedding light on the State’s Government policy on power tariff, Fadnavis said that his Government was giving larger bonuses on power tariff for industries in Vidarbha region to encourage businesses to look at this area as a preferred investment destination.

March 9, 2015 By Creativity Please

[article name=”DICCI sowing seeds of entrepreneurship in women” articlebody=”Taking inspiration from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who freed women from the age old shackles of inhuman treatment, DICCI was trying to sow seeds of entrepreneurship among them, said Padmashree Milind Kamble, Chairman of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) on Sunday.” keywords=”entrepreneurship in women” contentlocation=”” datepublished=”2015-03-09″][/article]

Taking inspiration from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who freed women from the age old shackles of inhuman treatment, DICCI was trying to sow seeds of entrepreneurship among them, said Padmashree Milind Kamble, Chairman of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) on Sunday.
Kamble was speaking at the celebrations of International Women’s Day organised by DICCI Women’s Wing. “In every nook and corner of our country where our chapters are working, this day is being celebrated with great gusto,” he said. He continued that DICCI was spreading the network of women entrepreneurs by providing them all sorts of help.
DICCI was born with out of box thinking. As per the 2014-15 Census, there were 5.27 crore MSMEs in India. Of them, 1.20 crore were run by Dalit entrepreneurs. When the 12th Five Year Plan was prepared under Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, a delegation of 35 Dalit entrepreneurs were invited.
“I was asked, how many Dalit women entrepreneurs are there in the 35 entrepreneurs, we were having only two. There was no reply left with me. From that day, we imbibed in our mind that we should inculcate entrepreneurship among Dalit women and bring them to mainstream. We are trying to open Women’s Wing of every Chapter and fostering skills in them,” Kamble said.
“When I went to the Netherlands in 2002, there was international conference. I told the delegates that Dr Ambedkar had given freedom to women in India and made education compulsory to them in the Constitution which was prohibited in our traditions. This is the biggest achievement of India. Today, the entire picture has altered. Women are working in every sector science, technology, space, industries etc,” he added.
Sunil Zode, National Head DSR-DICCI said, woman has multifaceted personality. “She plays various roles like manager, psychologist, etc. She can do anything, the only thing required is, she has to determine,” he said.
Arunkumar Khobragade, Mentor-DICCI, Nagpur Chapter said, “Whenever any woman becomes entrepreneur, the income of her family swells and winds of progress start blowing swiftly. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who is the beacon of Dalit society had given stressed on education and therefore people from Dalit community are seen taking education in every field. After formation of DICCI, they are trying to become self sufficient. We at DICCI teach–entrepreneurship is the only tool to achieve succes in life,” he added.
Hishchay Shelke, President of DICCI, Nagpur Chapter said, “Woman is an excellent administrator. She can manage the budget of home and also takes care of her children’s education. Poverty is the biggest enemy of anyone in the world as all the doors are open with the keys of money.” He said, women should come forward and become entrepreneurs. “We have fully dedicated office and our team is ready to help them,” he said.
Winnie Meshram, Chairperson of DICCI’s Women’s Wing said, the primary objective of the Wing was to make self-reliant.
Manjiri Arde, Chairperson of Manjiri Textiles narrating her life story said, it was not a bed of roses for her when she jumped into business in the year 1983. However, with the support of her husband, son, daughter-in-law, her business has grown manifold and has 30 women employees.
Dr Mangala Ghodeshwar said, in the present age, women should lay more emphasis on health.
Nidhi Kale, owner of Crossword said, DICCI has provided big platform for women to give exposure to their hidden skills. “Business is the only thing which can be passed on from one generation to the next.” Women entrepreneurs from Dalit community were feted. They include Satyabhama Bhagat, Manisha Chapse and Yeshodhara Jivane. The programme was conducted by Kranti Gedam. Abhitabh Meshram posed vote of thanks. Cancer Detection Programme at MIA House A programme on ‘Cancer Detection’ was held on 7th April, 2014 at 04:00pm at MIA House on occasion of ‘World Health Day’. Cancer Detection Society of India was represented by Nagpur Chapter Secretary Dr. Rathi, Joint Secretary Dr. Ajay Mehta and Member Dr. Manekar. President Shri Mayank Shukla welcomed the guests. Dr. Ajay Mehta gave a presentation on symptoms of Cancer and emphasized on advantages of early detection. As per information given by him 30% patients in India are having Cancer of Mouth or Tongue. The cause is chewing Tobacco and Smoking. Dr. Ajay Mehta explained that by the time the patient goes to doctor, he is already in stage-II or III. The reason is that people go to Pathologist for Blood Test or Lipid Profile but not to the Cancer specialist for checking of Cancer Symptoms. If the detection is done in stage-I or 0; life of the patient can be saved, but after stage–III or stage–IV the patient can survive for a short time that too with Pain & Agony. As per Dr. Mehta’s statement there are instruments available which can give warning of Cancer even two years in advance. Slides showing various types of Cancer were shown which really looked horrible. Dr. Mehta explained that the disease is going to increase in large percentage in India in both Male & Female.
He appealed that people should go to Mure Memorial Hospital where the Cancer Society is giving free check up facility. The reasons for spread of disease were because of lack of awareness about symptoms and no early detection. Pollution & Adulteration in food items was also an important reason. Lot of people are not aware of free check up & treatment by Cancer Society at Mure Memorial Hospital. Dr. Rathi advised all those present to sponsor for printing of posters for benefit of society. He said that all factory owners should procure posters & display in their respective factors for benefit of workers and staff.
He also advised that the society can hold such events at factories having strength of 25-30. Capt. C. M. Randhir proposed vote of thanks.
